The Lakes Writers' Course

A tale to tell - Storytelling masterclass

Monday 17th - Wednesday 19th May 2010

Adrian Plass has delighted thousands of readers and listeners over the course of his writing and speaking career, and we are delighted to have him leading three creative writing workshops. Come and learn from experts in the professional writing field: theory and practice, all in one course. Authentic Media's Publishing Director, Mark Finnie, will also be around on the course, and you will get a chance to pitch your idea to him or to an Authentic Commissioning editor.

The course begins at 1.45pm on Monday with an introductory session, and finishes on Wednesday 19th with lunch at 12noon. Breakfast on Tuesday and Wednesday is at 8am, supper on Monday and Tuesday at 6.45pm, and there will be frequent breaks for hot drinks etc throughout the course.

Part of Tuesday afternoon is left free so course attendees can enjoy the area. And if it pours with rain - this is valuable writing time! There are plenty of excellent walks from Eusemere house, or you can take a trip round Ullswater on a steamer, go into Penrith to find the Bluebell bookshop, or visit one of the nearby tea-rooms. Or even climb something...

Sessions will include:

Adrian Plass will be leading three creative workshops, in which participants will be invited to try out some new things, learn some new skills, and given the chance to read their work and have it - very gently - critique. There will also be a question and answer session - your chance to find out more about one of the most successful current Christian writers.
